***PLEASE NOTE*** The official policies & requirements for the curriculums of all 4 ECE majors have changed considerably since Fall 2004. Information listed on websites and other handouts are simply for convenience but do not supplant the policy in the UCSD General Catalog.

Pending & Historic - Changes to Catalog
NOTE – students are not responsible for any changes that come after the school year they entered.
For example: If you entered FA05, you are not responsible for any changes that get made in FA08.
Students who entered 09-10
- The online and printed version of the Electrical Engineering , Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering & Society major requirements have a few printing errors. Please refer to the information in the link below for the official EE, EP and EE & Society major requirements.

Students who entered 07-08
- Economics Professional Elective Policy changes - EE & EP Majors
– If you choose ECON for Professional Electives, 4 ECON courses required (2 lower division & 2 upper division).
For further details, please refer to the section “Elective Policy for Electrical Engineering & Engineering Physics Majors” in the ECE portion of the General Catalog.
Students who entered 06-07
- Computer Engineering Major curriculum changes – CE Majors

Students who entered 05-06
- Lower Division ECE & Elective curriculum changes – EE & EP Majors
– ECE 20A, 20B, 60A, 60B & 60L are eliminated and replaced by ECE 25, 35, 45 & 65.
– Technical Elective added: 4 Technical Electives & 3 Professional electives.
Students entering prior to FA05 & who completed ECE 60A-B-L are only required to take 3 Technical Electives & 3 Professional Electives.
Students who entered 04-05
- Grading Policy Changes – All Majors (EE, CE & EP)
– No grades of D will be allowed for graduation nor prerequisites.
– ALL ECE major requirements must be passed w/a C- or better.
