James R. Zeidler

Adjunct Professor, Electrical & Computer Engineering

Adaptive signal and array processing for wireless networks, and antenna arrays.

Professor Zeidler's research interests include digital signal and image processing, as well as applications, performance and implementation of adaptive algorithms. Space-time processing for wireless communications..Among his current research projects, Zeidler is working on adaptive interference suppression and capacity enhancement algorithms for wireless communications, and performance analysis of adaptive signal and image processing algorithms.

Capsule Bio:

James Zeidler joined the UCSD faculty in 1989, where he is involved in teaching and research in adaptive signal and image processing and wireless communications systems. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Nebraska in 1972. In 1995, Zeidler was a visiting professor at IRESTE, an engineering school of the University of Nantes, France. He was elected Fellow of the IEEE in 1994 for "contributions to adaptive signal processing and its applications." Zeidler has published over 170 journal, conference and technical publications on a wide range of topics. He also initiated a joint research effort on image processing of myocardial defects with the UCSD Medical School and the Nuclear Medicine Division of the Veterans Administration Hospital in 1992.
