M. Lea Rudee joined the UCSD faculty in 1974, after ten years at Rice University. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1965. At UCSD, he was the founding Provost of Warren College, the Founding Dean of the Jacobs School of Engineering, and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Materials Science. Rudee has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
