SPRING 2020 EXCEPTION: P/NP and S/U Grading Policy
You may have heard about the recent decisions from the UC San Diego Divisional Senate to adopt one-time exceptions regarding P/NP and S/U grades, as well as to extend several deadlines. Details can be found here.
In addition to the temporary changes to UC San Diego Senate regulations relating to grading options and enrollment deadlines, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will allow courses taken P/NP in SP20 to count towards ECE degree requirements. Students can choose to take major requirements for a letter grade or for P/NP. You are free to choose the grading option that works best for you in SP20. Any course required for the major in which a student earns a grade of C- or higher or a grade of P will count towards the major. This exception will be in effect for SP20 only.
In addition, for SP20 only, the deadline for undergraduate and graduate students to register on a P/NP or S/U basis has been extended to the end of the tenth week of instruction.
Thursday & Friday
Due to the current circumstances, the ECE Staff will be working remotely until further notice. Please call, email or set up a Zoom meeting with your ECE Advisor. Thank you in advance for your understanding and flexibility.
