Electrical and Computer Engineering Excellence and Innovation
To support student success programs including, but not limited to, tutoring and research opportunities. The funds may also be spent for general department support at the discretion of the department chair.
Charles Tu CORE Endowed Fund
The Charles Tu CORE fund supports electrical and computer engineering outreach efforts by providing funding to student organizations. These outreach programs benefit both K-12 and undergraduate engineering students who participate by learning from and growing with one another. Outreach is meant to inspire the next generation of engineers through positive and fulfilling engagement at an early age by providing opportunities to learn about a future in the field of engineering.
Currently, the Charles Tu CORE fund provides annual funding for the following student organizations: IEEE, HKN, ECE Undergraduate Student Council, SPIE, ACM, and Project in a Box. The Charles Tu CORE fund also provides funding to support the COSMOS program at UC San Diego.
The Bhaskar D. Rao, PhD Teaching Support Endowment Fund
The endowment will provide support for PhD students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (“Department”) at the Jacobs School in gaining teaching skills, which may include, but is not limited to, support for:
- Faculty teaching mentorship opportunities;
- Support for PhD students to participate in teaching skill development classes, programs, and/or conferences;
